Kampesino - Selling the produce of peasant families and feeding the population with healthy food

Since 2007, CIOEC-Cochabamba (Integrating Coordinator for the Rural Economy Organizations of Bolivia in Cochabamba) coordinates the movement Kampesino, a solidarity organization that supports the processing and commercialization of agricultural produce from peasant organizations. After having participated in the creation of Kampesino in 2007, Frères des Hommes and its donors have supported the activities of peasant farmers since 2008.

The peasants’ commitment to Kampesino will help accomplish two major goals in the fight against poverty: enable families to make a living off the land and to generate an income from their crops; give urban populations the means to feed themselves with local produce that is healthy and of good quality.

In order to expand these goals to more peasant families, more people in cities, more children in schools, Frères des Hommes has extended its support of Kampesino in 2009.
