Some fifty people attended their departure at the town hall in Olivet (Loiret), the three boys’ birthplace, to support the Dynamos team: relatives, friends, sponsors and Frères des Hommes, of course. After a speech in their support given by the mayor, they gave a presentation of their trip. In each of the 15 countries they will be visiting, they will showcase local development initiatives through reports. In India, they are going to invest themselves in the implementation of a peasant agriculture project that Frères des Hommes is running with the Trust Rural Development (TRD) organization, a charity belonging to the Fedina network, which is a partner of Frères des Hommes: click here to find the action programme.
They also presented Raúl Montero, of Frères des Hommes, with a €15,000 check, as their contribution to the funding of Frères des Hommes and TRD’s project. After a photo op with the town hall as a backdrop, the DynamoS’olidaires set off, supported by some twenty inhabitants who rode the first few miles with them.
Even before their departure, they made their first report on a producer of spirulina, a food complement made from iron and vitamin rich algae. It requires four times less water than soybeans to be produced and its protein yield to the hectare is thirty times as high as that of meat. A few miles further, they made their second report on an environmentally-friendly neighborhood in Chalon-sur-Saône.
