Haïti - Radyo Vya Peyizan, 93.9 FM, the channel that goes to the heart of the countryside

Between 9 am and 2 pm and between 4:30 pm and 9 pm every day, the inhabitants of the Central High Plateau of Haiti tune in to Radyo Vya Peyizan, which broadcasts high quality music programmes to people cut off from all other sources of information. India - Populations hit by the tsunami will get training centres for farming techniques

The Village of P.R. Puram, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu province, was in a festive mood on November 1st 2008 for the inauguration of CESCI Organics, the new training centre built by the Indian association Ekta Parishad, a partner of Frères des Hommes: inauguration ribbon, plays, awards for the volunteers, tea and sweets were some of the attractions of the day. Bolivia - Tusocorreo : a human network that works better than the Internet !

The Philippines - After the typhoon, farmers rebuild and train

In June 2008, typhoon Frank devastated 15 regions of the Philippines. In July 2008, the Pampanga Disaster Response Network (PDRN) organized visits to the Iloilo province, in the center of the country, to evaluate the damage done. In the village of Maňacabac, the inhabitants, local associations and PDRN listed what they needed the most. For the villagers, the most urgent need was to rebuild the bridge linking the two parts of the village to allow for the transportation of farm products. (...)
