Women in Society
To fight for the emancipation of a half of humanity, in recognition of the role that it plays, is not only a moral duty but vital in constructing a more just and united world.
Freres des Hommes and its partners are conscious that the struggle against poverty, the fight for economic development and the defence of human rights are not possible without women. Women have amply demonstrated that they are key actors, involved both in the lives of their families, for zhom they are often the principal source of sustenance, as well as in social concerns. However, many things are still done without their participation and even against them. Indeed, women are often the first victims of violence and all forms of discrimination and poverty, in the North as well as in the South.
This is why Freres des Hommes and its partners support activities that aim at bringing about a radical transformation of the processes that generate inequality and lead to the exploitation of women. These inequalities include all types of discrimination, domination, and political and domestic violence, such as disinformation and the arbitrary access to natural resources, education and training and financial resources.
